Celebrating the Ancient Peoples of the World
Dinosaur National Monument has a significant number of petroglyph sites (in addition to a lot of bones). Most are from the Fremont Culture.
Many of the sites were inhabited well before the Fremont. Swelter Shelter (glyph below) has yielded projectile points from 7,000 to 4,000 BCE, for instance.
The Fremont Culture glyphs are thought to be about 1,000 years old.
There are many panels at the site, shown immediately above and below are Classic Vernal style anthropomorphic glyphs. Most of the glyphs at this site are of this style.
