Celebrating the Ancient Peoples of the World
Pecos Pueblo (Cicuye) is on the eastern edge of the geographic range of the Ancestral Puebloan culture. It is located near the modern city of Pecos, New Mexico.
Mission Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de Porciúncula de los Pecos (image above) was built in 1619 and 1625, destroyed in 1680. The current structure dates from 1717. Images of that structure and its immediate surroundings are included here because it is an integral part of the modern Pueblo site.
