My exploration of sites in Central America have been limited to the Chan Chich and Lamanai sites in Belize and Tikal in Guatemala.
Belize
The site of Lamanai, Belize is on the New River in the Orange Walk District. It is a relatively small, but immaculate, site. Camera tripods are not allowed at the site and noone is allowed on the grounds until 8 a.m. (closing at 5 p.m.). These policies are not “birder”, or anyone else interested in natural history, friendly.
